Wound Medal

- Medal Desha Puthra Sammanaya was instituted in 1981.
- Medal is awarded to all ranks of the Army, Navy and Air Force of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka who are wounded whilst on operation by enemy action and such injury is classified at least as ‘moderately severe’ by the medical authorities or are killed as a consequence of such injury of enemy action.
