4th September Commemorative Medal
CUBR24 Medalla Conmemorativa del 4 de Septiembre
- Medal was instituted by Presidential Decree No. 236 of 12 January 1937 and ratified by Presidential Decree No. 2579 of 11 September 1943.
- Medal was awarded to: a) To members of the Armed Forces of the Republic who were on active duty on 4 September 1933, and whose subsequent actions made them deserving of this distinction. b) To members of the Armed Forces on active duty who had joined the same within the dates between 4 September and 9 November 1933, inclusive, with the condition established in the preceding paragraph. c) To persons who had manifestly, materially, and demonstrably contributed to the Revolution of 4 September 1933, or to its consolidation, or who in some way rendered valuable services to this cause in the national territory or abroad between the dates indicated in paragraph (b) and who had subsequently joined the Armed Forces of the Republic, also with the condition expressed in the preceding paragraphs. d) To military personnel and civilians, national or foreign, who during the period of time between the dates indicated in the preceding paragraphs, had contributed in some way to the improvement and consolidation of the Constitutional Army, both within the national territory and from abroad, and whose subsequent actions have made them deserving of this distinction.
- Sergeants' Revolt - was a coup d'etat that occurred in Cuba in September 1933.
