Cross of Gallantry


  • Honour instituted on 11 August 1995.
  • Honour awarded in time of peace or war for gallantry.
  • The Cross of Gallantry shall be struck in silver in the shape of an equal armed cross with a width of one and three quarter inches between the ends of diagonally opposite arms and with a circular disk in the middle with a diameter of seven eighths of an inch, the obverse consisting in relief, of the Coat of Arms of Botswana and the legend "REPUBLIC OF BOTSWANA" and the reverse having engraved upon it the words "FOR GALLANTRY", the name of the recipient and the date of the award.
  • Recipient can add the letters C.G. after his name.
